🔥 If you’re like most people, you want results yesterday. Unfortunately in life that’s not the way it works. But remember that things worth having don’t come easy, and things that come easy aren’t usually worth having. - - ⁣Most of us know when it comes to fat loss it means to eat right and exercise. But when a lot of people try to apply this, this is usually where a lot of us go in the wrong direction. We end up going on crash diets, cut out all sugar, carbs, taste ;p, do tons of cardio & basically live in the gym... eventually this leads to rebounds, crashes and before you know it you’re back at square 1 and probably even worse off then when you began! Fat loss shouldn’t be a quick fix, or something so extreme you can’t sustain it, or something that deprives you of energy, enjoying your food, and definitely shouldn’t require you spending hours in the gym! No matter your goal, fat loss, muscle gain or whatever it is, it should be a lifestyle and something you can sustain, maintain and enjoy! - - ⁣This is exactly why I love my fitness and nutrition lifestyle. It’s so simple, it doesn’t consume my life and I enjoy it very much. Intermittent fasting, so I can have huge and incredibly satisfying meals that leave me full for hours and don’t leave me deprived or counting down the clock till my next meal. Just remember to get enough protein to support muscle and then you can be more flexible with the remaining calories to incorporate more foods you love and enjoy. - - ⁣Finally, get up and move a little when you can during the day. Get at least 10,000 steps a day and lift heavy weights a few times a week at least. Fat loss seems to confuse a lot of people. These are the main things you need to focus on to be successful. . Clients often ask me about things in regards to losing weight. Apple cider vinegar, eating Carbs, Coconut oil, Keto etc. These are not bad or unuseful tools, but there are more important things to focus on first. . Sustainability and adherence ⬇ Is this something you can do long term? Or is it something your just going to try and tolerate for 3 months then go back to eating the way you did before? This is how people yo yo diet and feel hopeless. Figuring this out isn't necessarily easy, and is something you can always tweak and perfect, but it will help guarantee long term results. . Caloric deficit ⬇ To figure out and find your caloric deficit can take a bit of experimenting. Whenever I establish a caloric deficit for a client, I make sure they know it is an educated guess at best. But once we figure it out, the weight will start to come off. . Exercise plan ⬇ Any physical movement will burn calories, but is it the most optimal thing to do? Is it safe? Are you risking the chance of injury? Are you adding lean tissue to digest more calories at rest? Do you have it set up to show that you are making the process? This is where a knowledgable personal trainer can be extremely beneficial. . Progress tracking ⬇ Are you stronger? Clothes fitting better? Do you have a digital scale to tell if your lean tissue is going up, well fat loss is going down? Feeling happier? Sleeping better? Less depressed, sad or moody? There are TONS of ways to track progress, just make sure you are doing it! . Protein⬇ Protein is the most important Macro. It repairs and maintains lean tissue, which keeps your metabolism up (how well you digest calories) and is the most satiating food. Studies are always reaffirming it's linked to fat loss. QUICK LEG CIRCUIT TO ADD TO YOUR NEXT LEG DAY 🤣😓🤪 . Worked out with @gingersnapfitness401 & @fitwitheunice this AM and did this spicy little leg circuit! Figured i would share for you guys to give it a go 🙂 . Had us feeling real dead after all the hip thrusts we did before . 1. Sumo Goblet squats 2. Romanian dead 3. Walking lunge 4x10 . We ended with a glute finisher and we were all toast 🍞 . It’s so fun to be on the same program as your friends! Makes working out much more fun & def makes you push yourself more because your friends are there making sure you finish it all. (I almost skipped goblet squats and sam called me out 🤣) LOL . So far I’ve made great improvements in achieving my goal. Increase skeletal muscle mass compared and maintain a percent body fat (PBF) between 10-15 percent. Not that long ago my PBF was essential for body organs, so low I was not able to generate muscle tissue despite “working out.” My Total weight was 122 lbs. and remained this weight for a consecutive period. I made it my goal to gain at least 50 pounds and maintain myself in the “fitness” category for PBF. I no longer find the need to be in the athleticism category which is around under 10 percent. I am currently at 146 lbs. A day filled with me consuming large pizza, wedges, sundae and not mention my breakfast and lunch! However, this did not stop me from training! To be fair the whole weeks been pretty bad with my nutrition, I was aware of it and made sure I was in control and not let my bad habits dictate me!(barring today and couple 100 other times 😏) Completed my evening with a back and shoulder session (shoulder session not included in this). FOLLOW ➡️➡️@gymfit_healthy_lifestyle➡️HOW TO BUILD MUSCLE MASS by @dancudes⁣ -⁣ Building muscle mass is hard. It is simplistic in the sense that you simply just got to train hard with progressive overload and a small caloric surplus, but it is a grind. Right now, I am in more of a skill building phase, but I'm about a month off a mass building phase where I went from 155lbs to 170lbs in 9 months. To build muscle mass, you need to make sure you're doing the right things that I have covered on this page multiple times, but also some things that people don't always remember. For example, I see people doing 10 different exercises for a single muscle in a single workout because you have to "shock the muscle". By no means is this necessary, but rather only 2 to 4 exercises per muscle group is optimal. Furthermore, chasing the pump and half-repping is not ideal. Though a nice pump is awesome, only chasing it is not optimal to build muscle because it typically means you're not producing enough mechanical tension. In terms of range of motion, please take the muscle through its full ROM. In calisthenics, the rule is it doesn't count unless you lock out and I believe this should apply for all modalities of training. Finally, focus on your form. Don't neglect it in favour of more weight. Quality of your reps matters way more than the weight in the bar especially in terms of muscular activation force production. This gives your body the resources it needs to GROW. Between 200 and 300 calories over maintenance is a great place to start. This will add MUSCLE without all that unwanted fat. . HITTING DAILY PROTEIN TARGET Guys who have built a ton of muscle know that daily protein intake is most important for gains, while newbies focus on crushing shakes before and after workouts. Hit between .8-1 gram per pound of lean body weight each day to ensure that you are getting enough. . APPLYING PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD In order for our muscles to grow we need to continue to challenge them to force them to adapt and grow back bigger and stronger. This means adding weight to the bar and reps to our sets. Choose a target rep range like 8-10 and every time you reach 10 reps up the weight for your next set, its that simple. . AN UPPER/LOWER SPLIT Guys will run a "bro split" and train one muscle group each day of the week. This works great for guys who are on STEROIDS and have a surplus of hormones pumping through their bodies. For natural lifters training each muscle group 2-3 days is optimal for gains. An upper/lower split allows for this perfectly. - GETTING MORE SLEEP Last but not least, if you want to start building more muscle you need to be getting adequate recovery between your workouts. This means getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night, in order to maximize your gains. When you're recovering you can train harder and therefore grow stronger, add more reps, and get more muscle growth!

⁣ I remember feeling useless and unwanted for years after I had my daughters. Receiving compliments about my body and how fast I recovered after barring my children was once a personal form of confidence and self gratification that turned into feeling so empty and lonely... I lied and cheated myself. I got lost in what other people viewed me as and not what I viewed myself as. Viewing myself under others opinions and eyes made me so unhappy and left with me with little to no purpose... Why was I living for others?⁣ ⁣ So I gradually started asking myself these really imperative questions:⁣ ⁣ 1. What would make myself happy, just myself and no one else?⁣ 2. What do I not like about myself that I should change? ⁣ 3. Are these things realistic? ⁣ 4. What’s been holding me back from making these changes? ⁣ 5. When should I start making these changes? ⁣ 6. What are my short and long term goals when it comes to these changes I’ll be making and how do they benefit my life as a whole? ⁣ When I found the truth to these questions I stopped lying to myself immediately. I put my ass into gear and knew what I wanted. I knew it was going to be a process maybe not the easiest but like with everything else in life if⁣ you don’t put the work in you’ll have no real results and I wanted real results... I wanted to make a change for myself and not based on the reassurance through others. A lot of people won’t understand that and that’s ok.⁣ ⁣ My decision to broadcast my fitness journey over the past couple years was to initially provide reassurance, positivity and shed a new light to other women going through something similar to me... I’ve always wanted to share my energy, optimism and hunger for self growth in all aspects. Let’s grow together, be vulnerable and beat the odds 💪🏽 I’ll be posting my workouts, progress pictures, eating habits since so many of you have asked me over and over again to start my own fitness page. DIRTY VS. CLEAN BULK by @apfau - The terms dirty bulk and clean bulk have had different interpretations over the past decade or so. When I started lifting, a dirty bulk was understood to mean eating anything and everything possible no matter what in order to gain weight. It was pretty much standard to accumulate a significant amount of fat. A clean bulk meant eating only whole, healthy foods and it was generally understood that you would be gaining weight a bit slower on a clean bulk than on a dirty bulk. - However, those definitions were inappropriate and incorrect. There should be no such thing as a dirty bulk and clean bulk. Instead, your "bulk" should always be “clean” which should just mean slow and controlled. Whether you're eating "dirty" foods or "clean" foods won't dictate how much fat you gain. You can get fat eating too much oatmeal and chicken. Instead, the amount of fat you gain depends on how many calories above your maintenance you're eating. You should aim to gain weight slowly at around 2-3 pounds per month. Most of your foods should be whole, healthy sources but there's nothing wrong with fitting in some non typical foods as well. Sorry, no actual pics or video of me doing any of this today. But, today’s focus was on chest, going heavy for at least 8 reps. Here, I’ve put up 255lbs on the smith machine flat bench in efforts to fatigue out my chest. It worked. Then, I walked the weight down doing as many as I could up to 8 reps. When I reached 135lbs I went for broke and failed at 13 (happy Friday the 13th!). I did the same routine with incline smith machine bench up to 205lbs then walking it down. No matter how I feel. No matter how exhausted I am. My workouts will always be one of the best parts of my day. It’s my ME time.
